Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Marine LCPL Joshua M. Hines, Age 26 of Olney, IL.
KIA Oct. 15, 2006 Operation Iraqi Freedom
Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Hines of Olney, Ill., grew up in Ventura County and played for the Buena High School football team in Ventura during the late 1990s. He was an athletic young man who trained hard to be a Marine and built an obstacle course in his yard. He was encouraged by a friend to move to Illinois, and Hines consequently relocated to Olney in 2003 and joined the Marine Reserves the following year.
He was employed by Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Olney and he joined the U.S. Marine Corp in June 2004.
He was killed while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Fallujah, Iraq.
He is buried in Casey Cumberland Cemetery in Casey, IL.
We had a great 6.16 Mile walk this morning. We walked by Holiday Hills Lake and then over by CCHS. We made a stop up town at the war memorial Park and then headed back. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 132 honks. Thank You.
Marine LCPL Joshua M. Hines will not be forgotten !
