Navy Veteran Jay Edward Perkins, Age 61 of Columbia, MO.
Died Dec. 11, 2022
From Columbia Missouri
Lived in Ban Pak Nam Pran, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand.
I served with Jay back in 1983 in the Navy.
We had a great 5.89 Mile walk today. My shipmate, brother, Steve came from MN and his friend Jim from Murfreesboro, TN. came and we walked for our shipmate who we served with back in 1983 who had moved to Thailand. We walked over by Lake Holiday and then we worked our way up town. We made a stop at the Express Lunch and had lunch. We had a lot of laughs talking about old Navy stories and our time in the service. Even though it had been almost 40 years since we served together in the Navy, we still had a lot to talk about. It was great to hear the stories and I am sure Jay was right their with us walking, laughing . After lunch we headed back up main street and stopped at the War memorial Park where we got to meet a Vietnam Navy Veteran and his family. We then made it back to the house where we looked at my Cruise Book and talked more about our service. We really had a great time honoring our shipmate Jay. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 108 honks. It was amazing. Thank you.
