Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Navy Seal PO1 Patrick D. Feeks, Age 28 of Edgewater, MD.
KIA August 16, 2012 Operation Enduring Freedom

Patrick was assigned to a West Coast-based naval special warfare unit.

He was killed when the Black Hawk helicopter he was in crashed northeast of Kandahar, Afghanistan during a firefight with insurgents in a remote area of southern Afghanistan.

Feeks enlisted in the Navy in 2006, and then completed Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training and advance training. He had served with a West Coast-based SEAL unit since May 2008.

A Navy news release said his awards and decorations include the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He previously served in the Iraqi war.

He is buried in the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA

We had a great 7.20 Mile walk this morning. We walked by Lake Holiday and then headed up town and stopped at the War Memorial Park and then headed back. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 135 honks. Thank You !

Navy Seal PO1 Patrick D. Feeks will not be forgotten !
