Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Marine LCPL Jack L. Sutton, Age 19 of Crossville, TN.
KIA Apr. 24, 1967 Vietnam
He served his country in the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps, as a rifleman in B Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On April 24, 1967, LCpl. Sutton was killed under hostile conditions in Quang Tri province, South Vietnam; he was 19 years old at the time of his death. LCpl. Sutton is memorialized on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Panel 18E, Line 82.
We had a great 30.53 Mile walk today. As you can see by the map we ended up on several different roads. We did stop by the War Memorial Park and read his name off of the Memorial Wall. This was the farthest that we have ever walked. This was a fundraiser walk for the Gold Sar Families Monument for Crossville, TN. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with me today. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 587 honks. It was amazing. In this post I have included those who sponsored the walk. We thank you all.
Marine LCPL Jack L. Sutton will not be forgotten !
Thank you Tim for all that you do for our Fallen Heroes!
