Today our walk was dedicated in honor of :
Marine SSGT Charles A. Rebone, Age 57 of Grand Haven, MI.
Died Jan. 18, 2019
He was born in grand haven michigan and lived there until he left for usmc basic training.
He spent over half of his time in the corps overseas fighting for our country. He was a motor T operator and loved being on ship the most. He said the navy cooks fed them better! He retired from camp lejuene nc in 2001 and moved to georgia in 2008. We met in late 2009 and we were both head over heels before i even knew he had been in the marine corps. We have 2 children together and he has 3 from previous marriages. He was a fun funny husband and father and we had a riot telling jokes and hanging out together. Unfortunately his demons won and he ended his life in january 2019 near our home in south ga. He is truly loved and missed everyday
We had a great 7.95 Mile walk. We walked in the River Oaks Community. We got to see the sun rise over the lake. It was so beautiful. We seen a few deer. The views were amazing. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today and I want to thank all who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. We had 39 honks. Thank you
Marine SSGT Charles A. Rebone will not be forgotten !
