Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:
Army PFC Brandon S Rosecrans, Age 27 of Kimberling City, MO.
Killed May 18, 2020
PFC Rosecrans, Quartermaster assigned to the 3rd armored brigade combat team 1st cavalry division, was serving in the United States Army at the time of his death. Brandon was fascinated by dinosaurs, he loved his family to the fullest and loved exploring the Ozarks with his brothers. Brandon was a graduate of Blue Eye High School, Blue Eye, MO and a member of First Baptist Church, Kimberling City, MO.
Pfc. Brandon Rosecrans was born to be a soldier, according to a family member who spoke with the Herald recently, but Rosecrans wasn’t fated to die a valiant soldier’s death on some faraway battlefield. Instead, the Fort Hood soldier was shot and killed in Harker Heights while asleep in his Jeep.
“He was just trying to help someone out, and he ended up dying,” said Rosecrans’s stepfather Thomas Berg Sr. of Missouri. He raised Rosecrans since the age of 2 years old, along with Rosecrans’s two brothers, in the Ozark Mountain region of the state. “In Brandon’s eyes, the world was nothing but good. He lost his life because he loved everyone and would help anyone, anytime, anywhere.”
We had a great 8.19 Mile walk this morning. We headed out before the sun came up and we got to watch the sun rise. It was a beautiful morning. We walked down Miller Ave. Our first stop was at the American Legion. We then walked past Cumberland Medical Center before stopping at the War Memorial Park down town. I want to thank the Grinder House for flying our beautiful colors. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 187 honks. It was amazing. Thank You.
Army PFC Brandon S Rosecrans will not be forgotten !
