My walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Twin brothers Army Reserve SSG Bradley and Brandon Boone served in Afghanistan as members of the U.S. Army Reserve. They returned to Michigan in 2011

Army Reserve SSG Bradley Boone, Age 26 of Montrose, MI.
died March 5, 2017.

He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Oakland University. He served as SSG/ E-6 in the United States Army Reserve as Transportation Management Coordinator with a total of 8 years of service. He was honorably discharged in August of 2016. He also served a tour of duty in Afghanistan from 2010-2011. He was a member of the VFW Post #1370 in Pontiac. Bradley was a gifted, multi-sport athlete. He served as captain of the Montrose football and wrestling teams, earning a team state wrestling championship in 2004. He also placed 8th in individual state wrestling in 2007. At Oakland University, he also served as captain of the college’s first national championship football team and was named an All-American offensive lineman.

died May 4, 2017.
He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in 2016.
Brandon also served a Tour of Duty in Afghanistan.

He married Amanda Atkinson May 17, 2013. Brandon was employed as an apprentice at Kent Power Inc. of Grand Rapids. He was a multi-sport athlete invloved in high school football, wrestling and weightlifting. He was also a member of the UM Flint football team. He enjoyed skeet shooting, furniture refinishing, construction, and horseshoes.

What an amazing walk today. The weather was beautiful and I want to thank everyone who honked and waved in helping me honor these heroes. You were amazing and I can’t thank you enough.

We will keep their memories alive !
