Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Marine LCPL John Edward West Jr, Age 20 of Johnson City, TN.
KIA Feb 13 1969 Vietnam
He is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 32W, Line 30.
John is buried at Mountain Home Nat Cem, Mountain Home,TN.
a Field Radio Operator serving with Headquarters & Service Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division.
LCPL West was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign medals.
We had a great 7.07 mile walk. The weather was perfect. We stopped by the War Memorial Park down town . I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 106 honks today. Thank you.
