Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Marine LCPL Wesley William White , Age 21 of Carteret, NJ.
KIA Apr. 2, 1968 Vietnam
LCPL White is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 47E, Line 44.
Wesley is buried at St Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
He was assigned to 1st Marine Division, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, F Company
He had enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Entered the service via Regular Military. Served during the Vietnam War. He began his tour on October 23, 1967. White had the rank of Lance Corporal. His military occupation or specialty was Rifleman
LCPL White was awarded: Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign medals.
We had a great 5.35 Mile walk today. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us. I want to thank all that honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero this morning. We had 131 honks. It was amazing.
Marine LCPL Wesley William White will not be forgotten !
