My walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Air Force SA Elizabeth Loncki, Age 23 of New Castle, DE.
KIA Jan. 7, 2007

She was assigned to the 775th Civil Engineer Squadron, Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

Senior Airman Elizabeth A. Loncki, 23, died after her explosive ordnance disposal team was targeted by a car bomber near Al-Mahmudiyah.

oncki, who was deployed to Iraq in August, was scheduled to return home in 20 days, her family said. Her boyfriend, Sgt. Jayson Johnson, also stationed at Hill, had planned to visit the family’s New Castle home on Thursday to ask her father’s permission to marry her.

The bridge over Route 1, between DAFB and base housing, was dedocated to Elizabeth Loncki, the first Delaware woman killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

She is buried in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

We had a great 6.94 mile walk today. We stopped in the Crossville City Cemetery and visited A Fallen Veteran from the Korean, Vietnam War. The weather was perfect. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us. I want to thank all who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero.

Air Force SA Elizabeth Loncki will not be forgotten !
