My walk this mornig was dedicated in honor of Army SGT David William Holmes, Age 19 of Crossville , TN. He was assigned to 1st battalion, 27th Infantry, 25th infantry Division.
His infantry was conducting a mission in the Boi Loi Woods when it was ambushed by a main force VC battalion. Twenty-four Americans died in the bitter fight which followed.
David’s medals include Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
My walk went very well. It was a 5.07 Mile walk. I can’t thank everyone enough for your support in helping me honor David this morning. I was blessed with several honks and waves. Thank you so much.
