My walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army Cpl. Andrew L. Hutchins, Age 20 of New Portland, ME.
KIA Nov. 8, 2010 Operation Enduring Freedom
He was assigned to 3rd Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
He died Nov. 8, 2010 at Combat Outpost Sabari, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small-arms fire.
Andrew graduated from Carrabec High School, North Anson in 2008. He was a member of the Willpower Weightlifting Program, played basketball and baseball. He was also president of the Jobs for Maine Graduates program. He was born April 30, 1990, in Farmington, the son of Jeffrey and Robin.
Our 5.12 mile walk today was amazing. The weather was perfect. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us this morning. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. You all are amazing. Thank You.
