My walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Army Major Brent Taylor, Age 39 of North Ogden, UT.
KIA Nov. 3, 2018 Operation Freedom’s Sentinel

It was his 4th Deployment to Afghanistan.

The U.S. service member killed Saturday in an apparent insider attack in Afghanistan has been identified as Maj. Brent Taylor, a Utah Army National Guard soldier who also served as the mayor of North Ogden, Utah.

He was a military intelligence officer with Utah’s Joint Force Headquarters. He was serving with the Special Operations Joint Task Force in Afghanistan when he was killed.

He leaves behind his wife and 7 children.

He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service in Iraq, according to the Utah Guard.

We had a great 7.58 mile walk today. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with me today. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero this morning. It was great.

Army Major Brent Taylor will not be forgotten !
