Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:

Army SP4 Maurice S. Ellis, Age 21 of Asheville, NC.
KIA Oct. 17, 1967 Vietnam

Served with the 3rd Platoon, Company A, 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division.

He is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on panel 28E, Line 22.

SP4 Ellis was awarded the Puple Heart, Nationl Defense, Veitnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign medals

He served our country for two years before he died from multiple fragmentation wounds from a mine.

We had a great 12.28 mile walk today. The weather was perfect. I want to thank Robert for walking with us today. I want to thank everyone that honked , waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero.

He will not be forgotten !
