This morning my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Army SSGT James Charles Reamer, Age 26 of Milwaukee, WI.
KIA Aug. 5, 1971 Vietnam
Staff Sgt. James C. Reamer, 26, of 1822 Northport Dr., was killed in action in Da Nang Aug. 5 when his tank hit a land mine. He enlisted in the Army in 1962 and served in Germany and Korea, before being transferred to Vietnam three weeks before his death.
He Served with B Troop, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 196th Infantry Brigade, Americal Division.
Honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 3W , Line 124
James is buried at the Wisconsin National Cemetery. Milwaukee, WI.
His commendations and awards include: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Marksmanship Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Army Good COnduct Medal
We had a great 7.88 mile walk this morning. I want to thank everyone who honked and waved in helping me honor this hero.
