Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army PFC Adrian Darius Chico, Age 19 of North Bergen, NJ.
Died Dec. 6, 2023
Private First Class (PFC) Adrian Darius Chico was born on July 22, 2004. PFC Chico lived in North Bergen, New Jersey where he graduated from Bergen High School. Right after graduation he volunteer at Butler Fire Department. Adrian was a big animal lover. In September 2022, PFC Chico enlisted in the United States Army and completed Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, to include Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia, in July 2023 where he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty of Signal Support System Specialist.
Upon completion of training, PFC Chico was assigned to 2nd Squadron 14th Cavalry Regiment, Schofield Barracks where he served as an Radio Retransmission Operator for Headquarters, Headquarters Troop.
PFC Chico’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.
PFC Adrian Chico was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend he is missed and we lived proud of him and all he accomplished while serving this great Nation.
It was a great honor to walk 11.40 Miles with Army PFC Adrian Darius Chico today. We walked by Holiday Hills Lake and headed towards town. We made our first stop at the Veterans Memorial Park down town. We read several names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wall and then we headed out East First Street. Our next stop was the Crossville City Cemetery where we visited 20 of our Fallen Brothers. We then headed out Genesis Road and took Interstate Drive over to 127 where we headed back south. We then worked our way back to Sparta Hwy and then home. The wind was quite extreme today, but it was a beautiful day. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 493 honks today. It was amazing. Thank You.
