Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:

Army Veteran Lewis Eugene Tyler, Age 73 of Crossville, TN.
Died Oct. 21, 2024

He was retired after 40 years as a United States Army Veteran having served during Vietnam, Active Reserves, and National Guard. He retired with the rank of major. He later worked for over 7 years with the Dept. of Defense. Lewis enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, bowling, and spending time with his family. One of his proudest accomplishments was the installation and reestablishment of electrical grids throughout Central and Northern Iraq, bringing electricity to parts of Iraq that had never had electric. Lewis received countless awards for his leadership, expertise, and dedication to his soldiers and country.

It was an honor to walk 8.55 Miles with Army Veteran Lewis Eugene Tyler. We started out walking by Holiday Hills Lake and then took Miller Ave. over to Stanley Street. We then made a stop in at the Veterans Memorial Park and read a few names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wall. We then made a stop in at Family Ties for a little break and to warm up a little. We then walked into Centennial Park. After leaving the park we made a stop in at the 9/11 Memorial and then worked our way back home. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today and I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 259 honks today. It was amazing and what a beautiful day for our walk.

Army Veteran Lewis Eugene Tyler will not be forgotten !
