Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army SGT Austin J. High, Age 26 of Copperopolis, CA.
Died Feb. 25, 2024
He served as a local firefighter until enlisting in the army. He served with 82nd airborne and went to Afghanistan. He was then stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was active duty when he passed, and he passed away at Fort Carson. He loved everything outdoors, especially hiking. He loved being a father more than anything in this world. And he was very, very big into working out. He was always at the gym. he played eight years of football four years before high school and four years of high school.
It was a great honor to walk 10.27 Miles with Army SGT Austin J. High. We started out by walking my Holiday Hills Lake. We then walked Miller Ave. and then cut over to South Main Street where we walked by the Hospital and then our next stop was the Veterans Memorial Park where we read several of the names of our Brothers who’s names are on the Memorial Wall. We then walked over by the Fire Dept. and then walked over on Genesis road and then cut over to the Centennial Park. We then worked our way back over to 127 and walked by Flowers Bakery and then worked out way back home. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 327 honks. It was amazing. Thank you
.Army SGT Austin J. High will not be forgotten !
