Today our walk was dedicated in honor of :
Marine PFC Michael Giannattasio, Age 22 of Armada, MI.
Died Aug. 30, 2017
Michael graduated from Notre Dame de la Salette High School, Olivet, IL in 2014 where he ran Cross Country and played Rugby. Michael graduated La Salette with the “Devotion to Duty” award and was an All-State Rugby player during his Senior Year. He had the privilege to serve as Master of Ceremonies while at La Salette and consecrated himself to Our Lady during his high school years.
Michael then attended Macomb Community College in 2015 and 2016 before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps on January 23, 2017. Michael completed Basic Training on April 21, 2017, with Platoon 3028, India Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion at Parris Island, SC where he earned the company’s highest physical fitness and combat fitness score of 600 out of 600 points. After basic training, Michael’s next assignment was to Reconnaissance Training Company, Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA.
Michael was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ray, MI. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
It was an honor to walk 6.46 Miles with Marine PFC Michael Giannattasio. We started out walking by Holiday Hills Lake. Watching the ducks for a few min then headed over to Miller Ave. We walked by Police Headquarters and the Fire station as we headed up to main street. We stopped at the Veterans Memorial Park and read several names on the Memorial Wall. We then continued up main street and turned at The Bakery. We made a stop at the Frost Cemetery to visit some of our Fallen Brothers before heading home. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. We had 194 honks today. It was amazing. Thank you.

Buddy,candy cotton candy and I went on a walk for Marine PFC Michael Giannattasio of Armada, Michigan. This marine was lost to young. On our walking I could feel Michael looking down on me. He was keeping me going. We just had a simple 2.15 mile through the Subway near my house. I commented that I didn’t see it a lot of people flying flags. Marine PFC Michael Giannattasio greet one house that had amen saluting and navy plaque. It was a hard walk for me but I did it.
