Army Veteran Raymond Warlikowski Jr, Age 41 of Melbourne, FL.
Died Aug. 28, 2016
SGT Raymond Warlikowski Jr spent 20 years serving his country.
Message from his mother.
He got me a doll from Germany. Actually he took a tiny Tabasco Sauce bottle and filled it with sand from Afghanistan. Back in the states he became a teacher. He did four tours already and didn’t want to go back so becoming a teacher and going to night school he was able to finish his 20 years of service. He was an amazing father. So involved with his daughter and 3 stepchildren. His friends told me he was always willing to stop what he was doing and give a helping hand. I heard from a fellow soldiers from all over the world after his passing. Always had a smile on his face. I didn’t get to see him very much being away a lot but he always called me no matter where he was stationed. He was full of surprises. Mothers days sent me a digital photo and Happy Mothers Day Mom, I love you from when he was in the middle of a war zone in Afghanistan. It blew my mind that he had that available to him to be able to do that. On Valentines day the very year he was here on earth with me he sent me 2 dozen chocolate strawberries and they came with 2 teddy bears holding strawberries. One of them now is with him and I have the other one to cherish.
During his time in the Army SGT Warlikowski served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, Germany, Macedonia, Kosovo and the Persia Gulf. For his service he was awarded numerous medals, ribbons, and badges.
It was an honor to walk 8.25 miles today with Army Veteran Raymond Warlikowski. We started out by walking Sparta Drive and we cut back over to Sparta Hwy. We walked by the Army National Guard Armory and then our next stop was the 9/11 Memorial. We spent a little time their remembering and then we headed east. We got to see two deer over by the post office and then we went into the ball park and walked out the back. We made a stop at Family Ties and had breakfast. We then headed back south and we made a stop at the Veteran Memorial Park where we read names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wall. We then walked to the end of main street and then headed west. We walked by TCAT and then headed into Holiday Hills where we walked by the lake before we reached the house. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today and I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 178 honks. It was amazing. Thank you.
