Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:

Marine CPL Earl J. Blunkall, Age 20 of Nashville, TN.
KIA Aug. 27, 1968 in Vietnam
He is burried in the Nashville National Cemetery Section OO Site 256

Earl was born in Nashville and lived there all
of life until he enlisted in the Marines 14 June
1966,at a Nashville Recruiting Office.
Upon arriving in Vietnam 4 October 1967 Earl
was assigned to Mortar Platoon with H & S
Company,3rd Battalion,3rd Marine Regiment,
3rd Marine Division.
While the H & S Mortar Platoon was at Camp
Carroll,8 kilometers southwest of Cam Lo the
base had incoming hostile 130MM artillery
fire and Carl died as a result of fragmentation
wounds to the body.

His name can be found on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall at Panel 46W Line 038

Had an amazing walk. I don’t normally like snow but during my walk today it was snowing out like a blizzard. I loved it. It is quite different when I am walking with a hero. I want to thank everyone who honked and waved in helping me honor this hero. It was great.

He will NOT be forgotten.
