My walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Retired Navy Veteran Stephen A. Jensen, Age 70 of Crossville, TN
Died Mar. 23, 2018

Steve was born in Luverne, MN on June 22, 1947. He graduated from Luverne High School in June of 1965 and attended Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, MN. in 1967.

He joined the Navy and attended boot camp at Great Lakes Naval Base in IL and trained to be an electronics technician in March of 1968. His first duty station was Rota Spain then transfered to the USS Brumby FF-104 at Charleston, SC. Naval Base in 1974.
He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1977 and moved his family to Milwaukee, WI. He worked as an electronics technician at Globe Union. Then in May of 1986 he reenlisted in the U.S. Navy as a reservist at the Naval Reserve Base in Milwaukee, WI where he served in the Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare unit. He made the rank of Chief Petty Officer in Oct. 1991.
He retired from the U.S. Navy in Aug. 1997 after serving 21 years. He retired from C&D Technologies in Sept. 2009 after 32 years of service.
He enjoyed doing woodworking and projects around the house and was also a member of the American Legion where he served as finance officer. Sept. 2015 Steve and his wife moved to Crossville to live out their retirement in the beautiful mountains of TN.

He is survived by his wife, Son, daughter, brother, three granddaughters and six great grand-children.

Had an amazing walk. What a beautiful day to walk with a hero. I want to thank everyone who honked and waved in helping me honor this hero. He will NOT be forgotten.
